Plot: Conscript Fridolf and his sergeant, Göransson, both try to win the love of sweet Mary. According to an older relative's last will, she will inherit a fortune if she marries the unfortunate Dick Carter. A con man comes to the little town, claiming to be the legitimate Carter.
