Plot: The history of Germany's oldest independent family-owned film studio, now run by Brauner's daughter, Dr. Alice Brauner. The film traces the life of Brauner, who was born in Poland, shaped by German history, survived the Holocaust as a Jew, and became the most important film producer of his time in the country of the perpetrators.
