Plot: Gerhard Wismuth is said to have killed his two children. The press takes up the case and does good business with the grieving mother Brigitte. Then the trial takes a surprising turn: The accused incriminates his wife, who allegedly has a lover and murdered the children for his sake. The TV movie is reminiscent of the "Weimar case".
