Midnight Conversation

Plot: One night, a state-assigned assassin breaks into the home of a writer with democratic beliefs. The assassin has come to carry out a death sentence issued by a totalitarian regime. The two engage in a long conversation about ideology, freedom, life, and death. Their discussion is overheard by two messengers of the Lord of Death, who also begin to converse among themselves. The clash between truth and lies inevitably leads to death, but one of the messengers comes to the realization that death is the beginning of life. Moved by this insight, the messenger decides to live as a human and continue the writer's work.
